Crafts, snow, and Halloween fun

"Oh! My beauty spot!"
1920s Flapper girl, if you haven't guessed yet.
Grocery bags have many uses!
In honor of the snow we had this week, I'm posting these pictures of snowflakes that I made in Wels, Austria.

This one may be my favorite.

We also made this cute light set from an old set of Christmas lights and these cool plants called Lampions.
We had a Stake Harvest Festival and I won a prize for the finger painting contest! The original coloring sheet just had the pumpkin on it, and I made up the fence and background.
We are so lucky to have such beautiful sunsets here!
I made these earrings for my sister, and since I love the clear stamps I bought at Porters, I made a cute card for them to go on.

Then I decided to put the card in a handmade box.

And it made the perfect wrapping, so I just tied it up with a bow! :)

My lovely bike

This is my lovely bike. Thank you Jeff and Julie!!! I ride it almost every Tuesday and Thursday to get to my 7:45 D&C class. I think I will name it ... I don't know. Any suggestions?

Creative Outlet

Here is a picture of my niece, Rachel, on a hike to Wardsworth, the weekend before I came up to school.

I am now at BYU-Idaho, and enjoying a tough semester as an English Major. I have
ENG 333: British Literature
ENG 314: Advanced Writing, English and the Humanities
ENG 252: Fundamentals of Research and Presentation
Doctrine and Covenants (Forgot the course code thingy)
GER 202: Intro to German Literature
And ENG 318 R: Advanced Creative Writing- Screenwriting (Which I am now Auditing only, since I was recently called as Relief Society President)
So, despite the many opportunities for writing, I decided I need another creative outlet.
I tried designing a website for the business, only to find out that I will be designing a website for my presentation class. So I went to the Book Arts Lab and bought supplies to start making 12 books, for under 10 dollars. Since this may be the only time I ever "get a book published" I thought I might as well take advantage of the facilities and Student discount. :)
Just for fun, here are some random pictures.

The camera couldn't do this amazing sunset justice.
The view from my German class is amazing, when the sun shines on the Temple. It looks a lot closer and cooler, in person. (Notice the dark circles of exhaustion under my eyes? Ugh.)

Well, that's all for now. I need sleep. Hopefully soon I can find time to post pictures of my awesome bike from Julie and Jeff!

Mission Post

Well, well, well. Long time no see! I am back from my mission! And I have to say, the Germany, Munich/Austria mission is the best mission, ever! :) So for awhile I think at least every other post will be a flashback on mission times. Yes, I'm one of those missionaries that wants to show everyone her pictures and tell all her stories until everyone begs to talk about something else. :)

MTC-
Make the choice to make the change. Yay for DearElder.com! And MTC food! And Sister Carpenter and Br. Kopischke! I arrived at the MTC Dec. 3, and was the first one out of the conference room where we said goodbye to our parents. I found out I was to be a Solo Sister, like Laura, which meant that no other sisters were being sent to my mission at the same time as I was, so my "companions" were two sisters going to the Frankfurt mission, who had already been there a few weeks. Sis. Dexheimer and Sis. Mortenson. They weren't in my district, so I was with seven elders in the same classroom, every day for nine weeks. Good thing they were all hilarious. :)

Fall Fun

Dillon thoroughly enjoyed being a rebel for a little while and riding the gocart (usually off-limits) while I pushed from behind. He wasn't too thrilled about the helmet, however.
Autumn loves the season she was named for.

The riding lawnmower was another source of enjoyment, even with the motor off.

Hunter wanted to ride the trolley into the leaves, but he made us stop the trolley before he would timidly jump in.

Autumn is my favorite season, and my favorite 6 yr. old niece!

It was Autumn's sixth birthday on the 24th, a month before my 21st birthday. We decorated and made a cake and cupcakes and had a lot of fun with the birthday girl. The special occasion was made even more special by the fact that my mission call came!!! Too bad Dad and Jared went hunting and weren't back until Saturday. But it worked out for the best. We were able to get all of my siblings on conference calls at the same time, so we all found out together that I was called to the Germany Munich/Austria mission! So exciting, seeing as we have ancestors from Germany and I took three years of German in Highschool. I hope I can use the language to do family history. :) Also, the new movie, The Errand of Angels is about sister missionaries in Austria. :)
